Warriors edged by Mounties, 5-4

Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Samantha Bruckart (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles on her 21st birthday to lead the Lycoming College women's tennis team on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Bruce Henry Park, but Mount Aloysius was able to edge out Lycoming, 5-4, in non-conference action.
 
Bruckart notched her win over Felicia Phillips and added a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Ashley Stover (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill). The Warriors (0-1 overall) also got a forfeit win at No. 6 singles and junior Mariah Durrant (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) added a 6-3, 5-7, 10-7 superset win over Afton Dunkle at No. 4 singles.
 
Mount Aloysius improved to 1-1 overall, as it posted wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles and No. 1, 2 and 3 singles.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 12, when they host Wilkes at 11 a.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
