Samantha Bruckart (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) led the Lycoming College women's tennis team with a singles and doubles win against FDU-Florham on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 26, but FDU-Florham was able to post a 6-3 non-conference win.
Bruckart began the day by teaming with sophomore
Ashley Stover (Bel Air, Md./Patterson Mill) to beat Kaylene Diaz and Jessica Tondt, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles before she posted a 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 superset tiebreaker win over Pamela Russo at No. 5 singles.
The Warriors (0-4 overall) got their other point from the No. 1 doubles position, with junior
Sophie Herzing (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) and sophomore
Katilin Hallabuk (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) teaming up to defeat Serina Grande and Russo, 9-7.
FDU-Florham improved to 1-0.
The Warriors got back on the court on Sunday, Sept. 27, when they host King's (Pa.) in a 2:30 p.m. match at Bruce Henry Park.
