Mike Cooper (Riva, Md./Archbishop Spalding) posted two goals and an assist and junior
Lee Pappas (New Windsor, Md./Glenelg Country School) added two more scores to lead the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but Messiah College used a six-goal first quarter to post a 13-6 Commonwealth Conference win on Wednesday, April 8, at the Starry Athletic Complex.

Messiah (7-3 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth) started the game with six goals in the first quarter before Lycoming (1-9 overall, 1-2 Commonwealth) got on the board with one second left in the quarter as Pappas scored unassisted.

Cooper added his first goal to cut the Falcons' lead to five goals with 10:18 left in the second quarter. Messiah began a run of alternating goals with the Warriors with 7:41 left in the quarter that ran through the third quarter when both teams scored three times, making it 10-5. Messiah added three more goals in the fourth quarter, two on man-up offense before Pappas scored a man-down goal on an assist from Cooper with 5:08 left to round out the scoring.

Trevor Williams (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Catholic) notched a goal and an assist and senior
Thomas Hanson (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) posted five ground balls to lead the Warriors. Senior
Joe Marchetti (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) posted four ground balls and two caused turnovers and junior
Jamal Nelson (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) also caused two turnovers.

Ryan VanBochoven and Blake Knobloch led the Falcons with three goals a piece and Tyler Goglio added a goal and four assists. Brady Marburger led the team with seven ground balls and Chris Ruger added three ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Senior
Alex Wylly (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) posted nine saves in net for the Warriors, adding three ground balls. Sam Stengel was one of four goalkeepers for Messiah, earning the win with three saves in 24 minutes.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 11, when they host Widener University in a 1 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
