SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Senior
Christian Jacobs (Gwynn Oak, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) and junior
Lee Pappas (New Windsor, Md./Glenelg Country School) each scored goals for the Lycoming College men's lacrosse team, but defending Landmark Conference champion Susquehanna University scored the first four goals en route to a 7-2 non-conference win at the Sassafras Fields on Sunday, March 8.

The Warriors (0-4 overall) took 27 shots in the game, just three fewer than Susquehanna (5-0 overall), but six penalties led to two Susquehanna's first two scores.

Nick Reardon scored the first of those before Chet McLaughlin scored his first of four goals on the man-advantage with 2:43 left. Lycoming got on the board with a man-up goal from Jacobs with 10:47 left to make it 4-1. McLaughlin used his third goal of the game to give Susquehanna a 5-1 lead at the break.

Susquehanna scored early in the fourth quarter before Pappas scored his first goal of the season, but the Warriors, despite taking 14 shots in the half, could get no closer.

Senior
Joe Marchetti (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) finished with six ground balls and senior
Thomas Hanson (Tucson, Ariz./Catalina Foothills) added three ground balls and a caused turnover.

McLaughlin finished with four goals and an assist and Nick Reardon added two goals and an assist. Corrie Van Haaster finished with a team-high five ground balls and four caused turnovers.

In goal, Lycoming's senior
Alex Wylly (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) stopped 11 shots and scooped up four ground balls. Susquehanna's Jared Knowlton finished with 12 saves, making six in the second half, before yielding to Sam Ash, who made one stop in the final minute.

The Warriors get back on the field on Wednesday, March 11, when they head home to host undefeated Frostburg State at the Shangraw Athletic Complex at 3:30 p.m.
