Sophie Herzing (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) and
Mariah Durrant (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) each posted singles wins to lead the Lycoming College women's tennis team, but Hood College was able to post a 7-2 Commonwealth Conference win on Sunday, March 29, at Bruce Henry Park.

The Blazers improved to 2-5 overall and 1-0 in the Commonwealth and the Warriors fell to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the Commonwealth.

Herzing got the Warriors on the board with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Sophie Smith at No. 5 singles, but Aubrey Fetters beat senior
Abbey Smith (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) in a superset tiebreaker, 6-7, (7), 6-4, 10-8, at No. 4. Durrant finished off the match with another close match against Meaghan Donahue at No. 6, winning 6-3, 6-7 (5), 10-8.

The Warriors get back on the court on Thursday, April 2, when they head to Lebanon Valley for a 3:30 p.m. Commonwealth Conference match.
