Haley Sipple (Boothwyn, Pa./Chichester) scored a career-high 19 points and senior
Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) added 14, but the Lycoming College women's basketball victim fell victim to a strong second-half by Arcadia University, falling 65-63, in MAC Commonwealth action at Lamade Gym on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Warriors (5-4 overall, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) held a 39-26 advantage at halftime, but the Knights (5-4 overall, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) stormed back into the game in the third quarter thanks to a 23-6 run to open the quarter that helped Arcadia take a 49-45 lead with 2:44 left in the quarter. The Warriors fought back with the final nine points of the quarter, though, with freshman
Becca Painter (Elverson, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) guiding the run with two jumpers and an assist to help give Lycoming a 54-49 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Arcadia scored the first six points to take a 55-54 lead with 8:14 left. The Warriors fought back to tie it twice, but Arcadia was able to expand the lead to three points three times, with a second-chance jumper from Valerie Dimuro with 1:54 left making it 65-62. The Warriors cut back within two points with the front end of a pair of free throws from sophomore
Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) with 1:02 left and got a defensive rebound with 28 seconds left to get a chance to tie it, but a tying jumper and a layup went off the mark in the final seconds to help the Knights hang on for the win.

Arcadia scored the first four points of the first quarter, but Lycoming responded, taking its first lead of the game at 7-6 with 6:47 left. After fighting through four ties and seven lead changes in the quarter, the Warriors used a run of nine straight points to take a 19-12 lead with 1:40 left and Lycoming took a 22-16 lead into the second quarter, where they continued to expand the lead, using a run of eight straight points midway through the quarter to take a 34-21 lead after a fastbreak layup by Henderson. The two teams traded five points each in the remainder of the quarter.

Sipple finished with 8-of-12 from the floor for her 19 points and she added six rebounds. Henderson also added two steals and scored all 14 of her points in the first half. Senior
Olivia Manges (York, Pa./West York) finished with nine points, four rebounds and two steals and Mueller added seven points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Painter finished with six points and four assists and junior
Nicole Calella (Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) posted four points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Arcadia was led by 21 points, 18 rebounds and five steals from Addy Crenny and 20 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks from Valerie Dimuro. Dominique Hassinger added nine points, five assists and two steals.

The Warriors step back out of conference for the Hoops for Hounds Tournament after the holiday break, facing Rosemont College on Monday, Dec. 28, at 5 p.m. at Lamade Gym.
