WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three Lycoming College women's basketball players finished in double figures on Monday night, Dec. 28, as it kicked off the 10
th annual Hoops for Hounds Tournament with a 73-52 win over Rosemont to advance to the championship game for the third straight year at Lamade Gym.

Senior
Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) finished with a career-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the floor to lead the Warriors (6-4 overall), while sophomore
Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals and freshman
Shelby Schoonover (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) canned four 3-pointers for a career-high 12 points to go with five rebounds.

The Warriors will host York (Pa.) (9-0 overall) in the championship on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 3 p.m. while Rosemont (3-5 overall) will face William Paterson (5-6 overall) in the consolation game at 1 p.m. The Spartans outlasted the Pioneers, 68-62, thanks to 13 points, 11 rebounds, a tournament-record six blocks and five steals from Sam Hruz.

Lycoming led by as many as 21 points in the third quarter before Rosemont began to close the gap with a run of nine straight points, but junior
Rachel Miller (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) found Schoonover at the top of the arc for a critical 3-pointer to stop the run and give Lycoming a 51-36 lead with 3:22 left in the period.

Rosemont was able to close within 12 points once more early in the fourth quarter, but Lycoming responded with eight straight points to keep it out of reach.

The Warriors started the game on a 10-2 run, with Henderson providing eight points, six in transition before Mueller hit a layup om the paint to cap the run with 6:00 left. From there, the Warriors were able to expand the lead to as many as nine before the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Warriors continued to pressure, opening the period with a 16-5 run to take its first 20-point lead of the game at 33-13 with 5:34.

From there, Rosemont was unable to close back to within 15 until the nine-point run midway through the third quarter.

Nicole Calella (Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) finished with seven points, a career-high 10 rebounds and five assists and both freshman
Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) and sophomore
Hailey Fricke (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) each added six points and five rebounds.

Rosemont was led by 12 points and three steals from Jasmyn Parker and 11 points, four assists and three steals from Ayanna Thompson. Leilani Naone-Carter posted 13 rebounds and Nadirah Anderson finished with nine points, six rebounds and four blocks.
