GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – A balanced attack from the Lycoming College women's basketball team in the third quarter, led by nine points from senior All-Tournament Team member
Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers) and five assists from junior
Nicole Calella (Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) helped lift Lycoming to a 63-53 win over Ursinus in the consolation game at the Gwynedd Mercy University Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Griffin Complex.

Henderson led the Warriors (1-1 overall) during their first two games, averaging 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game. Against Ursinus, the guard/forward posted 17 points, six rebounds and five steals.

Calella, meanwhile, led the Warriors with 18 points, seven assists and two rebounds and freshman
Jenn Grove (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) added 10 points and four rebounds in the win.

Tied at 28 at halftime, the Warriors went on a 17-2 run in the first 7:26 of the third quarter, with Henderson leading the run with seven points. Lycoming got the inside game going during the quarter, scoring 14 points in the paint, while also forcing seven off turnover. Ursinus, meanwhile, shot just 21 percent (4-of-19) in the half.

The Bears cut the lead down to 10 by the start of the fourth quarter and drew within three points at 51-48 with 3:02 left in the game, but Calella followed with the next two shots on layups, the second coming at 1:21 left. The Bears cut the lead to twice in the final minute, but Lycoming hit 5-of-6 at the line in the final 32 seconds to secure the win.

In the first quarter, the Warriors built a six-point lead with 9-2 run late in the quarter before the Bears cut the lead to a point before the quarter. In the second quarter, Lycoming got the lead back to five points at 25-20 with 3:21 left on a layup by Henderson, but the Bears again fought back to take a 26-25 lead. Lycoming scored the next three points, with Grove hitting a layup with 28 seconds left and Ursinus went into the break by hitting a pair of free throws with 21 seconds left in the second quarter.

Shelby Mueller (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) added six points and a block and both sophomore
Hailey Fricke (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) and sophomore
Ashlee Ruzicka (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) each added four points.

Jessica Porada led the Bears with 18 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks and Alyssa Polimeni added 15 points and four assists.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Nov. 17, when they host Penn State Hazleton at 7 p.m. at Lamade Gym.
