WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Lauren Fink (York, Pa./West York) notched a pair of double-doubles to lead the Lycoming College volleyball team on the second day of the Tip-Off Tournament at Lamade Gymnasium, as Lycoming narrowly fell to Misericordia, 3-2 (25-12, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-7) before downing Penn College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-20) to wrap up play at the event.

Sophomore
Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United) was named to the tournament's all-tournament team after averaging 1.93 kills and 1.33 digs per set.

Against the Wildcats, the Warriors (12-9 overall) were led by a 10-kill, 18-dig effort from Fink, as she hit .533 and also added three aces, while junior
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York) notched 10 kills and hit .381.

Freshman
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 35 assists and six digs and senior
Laura Cinicola (Tamaqua, Pa./Marian Catholic), making the start on Senior Day, posted five kills, six aces and four digs. Sophomore
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added seven kills and seven digs.

Courtney Gernert led the Wildcats (6-8 overall) with seven kills, eight digs and two aces. Samantha Pogash notched 15 digs and Sophie Coldsmith notched 19 assists. Loralee Lindemuth notched a match-high three blocks.

The Warriors overcame a slow start in the morning match against Misericordia, as the Cougars hit .520 in the first set, but a Misericordia (10-9 overall) used a fast start in the fifth-set to clinch a 3-2 win.

Fink led the Warriors with 12 kills, 13 digs, four aces and two blocks and Slawson posted 10 kills and 13 digs for the second of the team's three double-doubles. Burger posted 39 assists, 12 digs, two blocks and two aces for the third.

Whitman notched seven kills, six digs and five blocks and Richardson notched nine kills and a block. Sophomore
Haley Deibert (Sacramento, Pa./Tri-Valley) added seven digs.

Shelby Brochetti notched 19 kills and 12 digs and Meghan Stack posted 11 kills and 16 digs for the Cougars. Lexi Giannone notched seven aces and 14 digs and Nicole Tagerty posted 47 assists and 10 digs. Ariana Giagliardi had five of the team's 22 aces.

The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday, Sept. 30, when they host Lebanon Valley in a key Commonwealth Conference match at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
