Box Score 2  | Tip-Off Tournament Central | VideoWILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – After dropping its first set of the day, the Lycoming College volleyball team rallied to capture the next three to take a 3-1 (17-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-23) win over Montclair State to open the Tip-Off Tournament at Lamade Gym on Friday, Sept. 26. In the nightcap, the Warriors fell to St. Mary's (Md.), 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-22).

Kristin Whitehead (Avon, Ohio/Avon) became the third player in school history to reach 1,500 career digs with her third of five in the match.

Kristine Jahn (Enola, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led the Warriors (11-8 overall) with 15 kills against Montclair State, adding seven digs and three assists and junior
Bethany Richardson (York, Pa./West York) notched 12 kills and four blocks.

Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added four kills, three assists, seven digs and five blocks and sophomore
Lauren Fink (York, Pa./West York) posted nine kills, a match-high 19 digs and three blocks.

Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) added 36 assists and eight digs and Whitehead added three kills and six digs.

Montclair State (12-4 overall), which was held to a .130 hitting percentage in the final three sets, was led by 16 kills, four aces and three blocks from Courtney Matlock and 10 kills from Hayley Merrill. Angela Campo posted 35 assists and three aces and Lily Scanzillo added 14 digs and three aces.

Fink led the Warriors against St. Mary's, posting 10 kills and nine digs during the three-set match in which the Seagulls (7-5 overall) hit .380.

Maggie Slawson (Armagh, Pa./United) notched nine kills and Whitman posted seven kills and six digs. Burger posted 31 assists and four aces and Jahn notched five kills and seven digs.

Mandy Goodspeed led the Seagulls, as she notched 11 kills and five blocks and Mimi Graf added nine kills, 20 assists and seven digs. Brigid Morris posted nine kills and three blocks and Autumn Fisher notched seven kills and nine digs.

The Warriors wrap up the Tip-Off Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they host Misericordia in a 10 a.m. match before facing Penn College at 2 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
