Warriors fall to Monarchs

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Lycoming College women's tennis team opened its 2014-15 campaign by winning two of three doubles points, but King's College won five of six in singles to notch a 6-3 win at Kirby Park in non-conference action on Saturday morning, Sept. 20.
 
The doubles team of senior Shannon Sheridan (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) and sophomore Sophie Herzing (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) notched an 8-0 win over Lauren DeReinzi and Vanessa Wagner at No. 2 and the No. 3 doubles team picked up a win by forfeit.
 
In singles play, freshman Kaitlin Hallabuk (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Hifza Saeed at No. 6.
 
Lycoming fell to 0-1 on the season while King's improved to 2-0.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they head to Susquehanna for a 3:30 p.m. match.
