READING, Pa. – Freshman
Isaac Thomas (Bellefonte, Pa./Homeschooled) kicked off his collegiate swimming career in style, posting two individual wins and a relay win to lead the Lycoming College swim teams in their season-opening dual meet at Middle Atlantic Conference foe Albright on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 25. The Lycoming men narrowly fell, 104-101, while the women dropped a 115-88 decision.

The Warrior men and women fell to 0-1 overall while Albright improved to 2-0 on both the men's and women's sides.

Thomas posted a time of 1:50.58 to win the 200-yard freestyle before posting a time of 57.99 to win the 100-yard backstroke. Junior
Josh Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran) added a time of 54.29 to win the 100-yard butterfly.

Freshman
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) finished second in the 100-yard backstroke behind Thomas, notching a time of 59.30.

The Warriors closed the gap in the meet late thanks to the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Thomas, junior
Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), freshman
Charlie Pletz (Robesonia, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) and senior
Dan Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North), as they notched a time of 3:24.66. However, Albright's relay team was able to stave off a Warrior with a second place finish in the meet, just three seconds ahead of the Warriors' 'B' team.

On the women's side, the team posted two event wins, as senior
Danielle Loiseau (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) posted a time of 1:03.05 to win the 100-yard butterfly and senior
Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield) posted a time of 58.46 to win the 100-yard freestyle.

The Warriors finished 1-2 in the butterfly, with senior
Alexia Follweiler (New Ringgold, Pa./Panther Valley) posting a time of 1:05.19. Loiseau also swam well in her other events, finishing second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:37.44 and the 200-yard freestyle in 2:04.87.

The Warriors get back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host Hood in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet at 1 p.m.
