Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Junior Abbey Smith (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) won her match at No. 4 singles and two other singles matches went to superset tiebreakers, but the Lycoming College women's tennis team fell to Susquehanna University, 8-1, in non-conference action at Bruce Henry Park on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19.
 
Smith posted a 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 superset tiebreak win over Christine Bender to lead the Warriors (0-2 overall).
 
Two other singles matches also went into supersets, as junior Shannon Sheridan (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) was edged out by Jessica Klinger at No. 1, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4, and freshman Sophie Herzing (St. Mary's, Pa./Elk County Catholic) lost narrowly to Alyssa Fleischmann, 7-5, 2-6, 10-4.
 
Susquehanna improved to 2-1 overall.
 
The Warriors get back on the court on Sunday, Sept. 22, when they head to Alfred University for a 12 p.m. match.
