Â
Both junior 125-pounder
Cody Barbiche (Milford, N.J./Delaware Valley Regional) and senior 184-pounder
Greg Wetzel (Pleasant Valley, N.Y./Arlington) won three matches. Barbiche posted a 6-2 win over Messiah's Marshall Myers, a 4-2 sudden-victory win against Waynesburg's Gordon Bieber, ranked as a contender in the d3wrestle.com rankings, and a forfeit win over Muskingum. His lone loss was a 6-5 decision in the Mount Union dual. Wetzel, after a dropping a decision to second-ranked Josh Thompson of Messiah, rebounded with a 4-0 win over Waynesburg's Patrick Jennings, a 4-3 overtime win over Muskingum's Walter Bluhm, and a 7-5 win over Mount Union's Brent Kirk.
Â
Against Messiah, the Warriors (2-4 overall) won three matches in a row from 149-165, with freshman
Nolan Barger (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) posting a 10-2 major decision win over Kalann Washington at 157 and junior
Brian Watkins (Bear Gap, Pa./Southern Columbia) added a 7-0 win over Kyle Dayhoff, giving the Warriors a 13-10 lead. However, the fifth-ranked Falcons (6-0 overall) won the last four matches to take the 28-13 decision.
Â
The Warriors won three matches against Waynesburg (4-3 overall), as Barbiche and Lansberry won two of the first four bouts to tie it at six before the Hornets ran off 13 points over the next three bouts to take control in the 25-9 win.
Â
The Warriors were aided by three forfeits against Muskingum (0-4 overall), but freshman 141-pounder
Zach Britton (Bradford, Pa./Bradford Area) and Lansberry also added pins to account for 30 of the team's points in the 46-0 win. Freshman 133-pounder
Andrew Gipe (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) and freshman 197-pounder
Skylar Ebner (Muncy, Pa./Muncy Area) each added their first career dual meet wins as Lycoming shutout an opponent for the first time since a 55-0 win over RIT on Jan. 9, 2010.
Â
The Warriors fell behind, 9-0, to Mount Union, but wins at 141 and 149 by junior
Caleb Willey (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) and Lansberry brought Lycoming within three points at 9-6. After two more wins by the Raiders, junior
Johnathan Secor (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) and Wetzel notched decisions to make it 18-12 after eight matches. However, a pair of narrow decisions helped Mount Union sneak away with the 24-12 win.
Â
The Warriors will head back to Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 7, when they get back on the mat at the Ohio Northern University Invitational. The tournament starts at 9 a.m.
