Warriors fall to Hood

FREDERICK, Md. – Junior Dan Woods (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) and freshman Jess Wimmer (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) posted individual wins to lead the Lycoming College swim teams in Saturday, Nov. 2's Middle Atlantic Conference dual meet at Hood College, but the men fell, 137-68, and the women fell, 124-81.
 
The Warrior men (0-2 overall, 0-2 MAC) were led by Woods, who posted a win in the 100-yard butterfly (52.99) and finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.78). He also anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, which posted a time of 1:30.44. Sophomore Dan Apostolu (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), senior Luke Dohrman (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) and senior Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg North) also swam on the relay.
 
Hood's men improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the MAC.
 
Wimmer led the Warrior women (0-2 overall, 0-2 MAC), posting a time of 1:15.52 to win the 100-yard breaststroke. Wimmer also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley, posting a time of 2:22.86. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Morgan Black (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone), junior Lexi Follweiler (Coaldale, Pa./Panther Valley), junior BethAnn Schwoyer (Williamsport, Pa./Homeschooled) and junior Brigid Clark (Wyndmoor, Pa./Springfield), also posted a win, notching a time of 1:46.17.
 
Hood's women improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the MAC.
 
The Warriors get back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 9, when they host Elizabethtown in Middle Atlantic Conference action at Lamade Gym Natatorium.
