Warriors look for fourth straight Tip-Off Tournament title on Saturday

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -
After a 88-45 win over Penn State Wilkes-Barre to open the 2012-13 season, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will look for its fourth straight Tip-Off Tournament title when it hosts Salisbury in the championship game at 3 p.m.

The Warriors (1-0 overall) were led by junior Kevin Anthony, who posted 19 points and five rebounds in the win over the Mountain Lions on Friday night. Senior Ihsaan Davis added 10 points and six rebounds, as 14 players factored into the scoring in the win.

The Sea Gulls (2-0 overall) are playing their third game in as many days, beating Washington, 73-68, on Nov. 15, and Old Westbury, 76-63, on Nov. 16. Senior Travon Vann posted 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the win over Old Westbury.

• This is the first time that Salisbury and Lycoming haven’t met at a neutral site, playing at Washington & Lee in 1976 and Muhlenberg in 1994.

• Junior Kevin Anthony reached 600 career points with his seventh of 19 points against Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

• Senior Jerald Williams needs five steals to reach 250 in his career. He is 42 steals away from the top 25 in NCAA Division III history.

• Williams enters the season with 569 assists, which is 99 helpers away from the MAC record of 668 set by Lebanon Valley’s Mike Rhoads from 1992-95.

• Sophomore Patrick Dougher reached 200 career points with his last of eight points against Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

• The Warriors’ seven freshmen combined for 15 points and 11 rebounds against Penn State WIlkes-Barre.

• The Warriors are 35-6 (.854) under head coach Guy Rancourt when they score more than 80 points.
