NEWVILLE, Pa. – Six Lycoming College cross country runners posted season-best times to lead the Warriors at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional at Big Spring High School on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Warrior women finished 41st in a group of 49 teams, led by an 80th-place finish by senior Michelle Herman (Altoona, Pa./Hollidaysburg), and the men took 48th, led by a career-best time from sophomore Alex Bottorff (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse).
 
Herman ran the second-best time of the year for the Warrior women and the third-best time in her career, posting a 24:48.0 and finishing a career-best 80th at the Mideast Regionals. She is the only women’s runner in school history to run at the race four times and she posted a school-record time of 24:14.90 as a freshman at the race.
 
Three Warriors posted career-best times during the women’s race in the field of 346, led by freshman Chelsea Henderson (Yonkers, N.Y./Yonkers), who posted a time of 28:47.3. Sophomore Kelsey Rawson (Waldorf, Md./North Point) notched a time of career-best 29:22.6 and junior Carmen Niemeyer (Brookings, S.D./Brookings) added a career-best 29:30.3.
 
Senior Ashley Buck (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) added a time of 28:28.1, sophomore Heather Cunningham (York, Pa./Central York) added a time of 28:53.1 and freshman Rachel Salmon (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) rounded out the team’s day with a time of 29:40.9.  
 
Bottorff led the Warrior men in a field of 343 runners, posting a 250th-place finish with a career-best time of 30:01.6, just narrowly missing breaking the 30-minute mark for the first time in his career. Junior Mike Puchalski (Redlands, Calif./Redlands East Valley) notched a season-best time of 30:11.4 and senior Kevan Guerin (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) added a season-best time of 33:25.9, his best time since his sophomore year.
 
Rounding out the Warriors’ contingent, freshman Peter Rittenhouse (Green Lane, Pa./Quakertown Community) posted a time of 30:33.9 and the McAtee brothers (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) also ran, with sophomore Rory leading the trio with a time of 33:22.4. Sophomore Chris posted a time of 33:56.9 and senior Pat added a time of 38:15.8.
