Warriors fall to Michigan-Dearborn, Penn St.-Altoona at Dickinson Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. –
The Lycoming College volleyball team fell twice on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Dickinson Invitational, falling to Michigan-Dearborn, 3-1 (9-25, 15-25, 25-19, 22-25), and 3-0 to Penn State-Altoona (16-25, 21-25, 26-28).

The Warriors (3-4 overall) fell behind quickly against Michigan-Dearborn (8-5 overall), but recovered in the third set to post a 25-19 win and played well in the fourth before succumbing, 22-25. Sophomore Katelyn McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) posted 20 assists and 12 digs to go with four blocks to lead the Warriors in the match. Junior Jackie Oliva (Barnesville, Pa./Mahoney Area) added three kills and seven blocks. Freshman Amber Seibel (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette) led the Warriors with 10 kills and four digs. Sophomore Shelby Gear (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) posted the Warriors with eight kills and six blocks.

Against Penn State-Altoona (3-4 overall), McKillop posted another double-double with 24 assists and 15 digs and Seibel posted nine kills and 17 digs. Freshman Laura Cinicola (Tamaqua, Pa./Marian Catholic) added five blocks and both Gear and senior Heather Keller (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) posted six kills.

 The Warriors get back on the court on Wednesday, Sept. 14, when they open the Commonwealth Conference season at Messiah at 7 p.m.
