Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Propelled by three doubles wins, the Lycoming College women’s tennis team posted its  first win of the season with a 7-2 win over King’s (Pa.) in the nightcap of a doubleheader in Wilkes-Barre, as the Warriors fell in their first match of the day, 8-0, to perennial conference power,  Wilkes.
 
Junior Megan Gardner (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) and freshman Dani Nazaruk (Duncansville, Pa./Guilfoyle Catholic) posted an 8-1 win over Sara Lynn and  Emily Biffen at No. 1 doubles and sophomore Ellen Phillips (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) and freshman Abbey Smith (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) notched an 8-2 win over Vanessa Wagner and Cara Medwick at No. 3.  Junior Emily Zangara (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) and Shannon Sheridan (Danville, Pa./Danville) wrapped up the sweep with an 8-4 win over Nicole Molino and Gina McLaughlin.
 
In singles play, Zangara notched a 6-1, 6-3 win over Molino at No. 2 and Gardner posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lynn at No. 1. Sheridan posted a 6-1, 6-2 win over McLaughlin at No. 4 and Phillips added the seventh point with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Medwick at No. 6.
 
Against Wilkes, Gardner and Nazuruk played well in their doubles match, falling to Ally Kristofco and Alexis Donner, 8-6, at No. 1.
 
The Warriors (1-2 overall) wrap up their fall dual meet schedule on Thursday, Oct. 6 when they head to Juniata for a 1 p.m. match.
