LA PLUME, Pa. – Every Lycoming College softball player who stepped into the batter’s box during a doubleheader against Keystone College got a hit as the Lady Warriors swept the Giants 11-4 in the first game and 11-1 in the second contest. Lycoming had 15 hits in each game.

Senior infielder Jess Nabholz became the school's career record holder for doubles, picking up her 25th in the first game.

Perhaps the hit of the day came off the bat of freshman outfielder Janelle Poorman, who blasted a grand slam in the fourth inning of the first game. Sophomore shortstop Manda Peck went three-for-three at the plate, while second baseman Taylor Lesser also had three hits in her five plate appearances. Leftfielder Allyson Marianelli had two hits in four at-bats. At first base, Nabholz recorded 10 putouts as freshman Holly Lansberry picked up the win, allowing just one hit and punching out five batters.

Game two saw the Lady Warriors’ bats still swinging hot, with Nabholz setting the pace with three hits in four at-bats. Outfielder Tierra Miller had two hits and two runs. Junior Shauna Starr and Lesser both drove in two runs. Catcher Ashley Demchak was efficient in the box, getting one hit in one at-bat and driving in three runs. Nabholz tallied another five runs in the second game. Lansberry picked up her second victory of the day, recording eight strike outs against the 19 batters she faced.

Lycoming returns to the Robert L. Shangraw Complex on Saturday, April 24, where it will honor its two seniors Nabholz and Courtney Black. The opening pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
