Records continue to fall at day two of the MAC Swimming Championships

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – In the preliminary round of day two at the Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Championship on Saturday, Feb. 13, Lycoming College freshman Lindsey Hunsicker broke a school record that stood for more than 25 years.

Hunsicker broke the school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.93, taking down the mark previously held by Denise Zimmerman (1:01.3), set in 1982. Hunsicker set the record in the preliminary round, and won the event in 1:00.15. Ashley Tudgay took third in the race in a time of 1:01.67. Elisa Becker grabbed fourth place, touching the wall in 1:01.82.

In the 200-yard medley relay, the squad of Caroline LeHota, Stacy Flick, Hunsicker and Randi Bosch crushed the school record with a time of 1:51.21. The previous mark of 1:53.6 was set in 2005.

Flick broke her own pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke, turning in a time of 1:07.02, and set a new Lycoming record in the process of taking first in the event.

Through 20 events, Lycoming is third overall in the standings, amassing 344 team points. Albright College is in first place by just 27 points with 371 and Misericordia University is in second at 366.
