Flick posts two first-place finishes but Warriors fall to Bears

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Lycoming College men’s and women’s swimming teams fell in the programs' home-opening meet against Ursinus in non-conference action on Saturday, Nov. 6. It was the second meet for both squads as Ursinus' men and women improved to 2-0 posting 119.5-80.5 (men) and 109-91 (women) victories. Lycoming fell to 0-2 on both the men's and women's squads.

On the women's side, the Warriors were led by senior Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area), who posted two first-place finishes. In the 100-yard freestyle, she posted a 56.56 and in the 100-yard breaststroke, she posted a 1:08.38 to earn victories.

Sophomore Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes) also contributed a first-place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, posting a 11:48.91. Freshman Ariel Smith (Hanover Township, Pa./Holy Redeemer) came in right behind Flick in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:13.84.

On the men's side, the Warriors put together a solid effort. Freshman Zack Brower (East Stroudsburg Pa./East Stroudsburg North) placed first in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 23.90.

Junior Joseph Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) added a first-place finish when he posted a 1:04.84 in the 100-yard breaststroke and he took second in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:46.44

Both Warrior swim teams get back in the water Saturday, Nov. 13, when they go to Elizabethtown for a Middle Atlantic Conference match-up. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m.
