WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) continued to pace the Lycoming College women’s swim team, as she posted two first-place finished, but 2010 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships runners-up Misericordia bested Lycoming, 121-79, in MAC action on Wednesday night. The Lycoming College men’s swim team, although it got two first-place performances, also fell, 128-72, to Misericordia.
Flick led the Warriors (0-3-1 overall, 0-2-1 MAC), posting a personal-best 2:18.66 to take the 200-yard individual medley and she added a season-best 1:08.34 to take first in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Freshman Ariel Smith (Hanover Township, Pa./Holy Redeemer) added a time of 1:12.21 to take third in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sophomore Elisa Becker (Reston, Va./South Lakes) added a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle and sophomore Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took second in the 100-yard butterfly.
On the men’s side, junior Myles Biggs (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) and junior Joe Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) posted first-place finishes to lead the Warriors (1-3 overall, 1-2 MAC).
Biggs notched a time of 10:58.54 to earn nine team points in the 1,000-yard freestyle and Andrie added a time of 1:03.84 in the 100-yard breaststroke to touch out the second-place Misericordia swimmer by five-hundredths of a second.
Freshman C.J. Arhontakis (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) also performed well in his first meet of the season after joining the team following the conclusion of the football season, as he notched a second-place time of 23.23 in the 50-yard freestyle.
The Warriors will get back in action when they head to Swarthmore for the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday, Dec. 3, with the two-day event starting at 6:30 p.m.
