Meet Results

READING, Pa. – Facing off with one of the traditionally strongest teams in the league is tough enough, but doing it in your season opener when the other team has three meets under its belt can make it even tougher, but that was the situation that the Lycoming College swim teams found themselves in on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Albright, as the Lions posted 121-86 (women) and 121-76 (men) wins in the Middle Atlantic Conference meet.

On the women’s side, the Warriors (0-1 overall, 0-1 MAC) got out to a strong start by posting a first place finish in the 200-yard individual medley relay, as freshman Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes), freshman Ariel Smith (Hanover Township, Pa./Holy Redeemer), sophomore Hope Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and senior Kate Williamson (Audobon, Pa./Methacton) posted a time of 1:56.66.

Senior Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) also posted a win for the Warriors, as she posted a 2:30.91 to take the 200-yard breaststroke.

On the men’s side, the Warriors (0-1 overall, 0-1 MAC) were led by a solid day from junior Joe Andrie (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley), as he posted a 2:12.67 to take second in the 200-yard individual medley and added a first-place finish with a time of 1:04.17 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Freshman Jack Port (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cedar Cliff) also added a solid showing in his first collegiate meet, as he won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.74.

Both Albright swim teams improved to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the MAC.

The Warriors get back in the pool on Saturday, Nov. 6, when Lycoming head coach Jerry Hammaker faces off with his former high school teammate at Williamsport High School, Mark Feinberg, who is the head coach at Ursinus. The meet is set for 1 p.m. at the Lamade Gym pool.
