Box Score ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Senior Megan Schulze (Reedsville, Pa./Indian Valley) posted her second career double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs, but second-place Elizaethtown slipped out of the Lycoming College volleyball team’s grasp on Wednesday night in Commonwealth Conference action, as the Blue Jays posted a 3-1 (24-26, 26-24, 25-19, 25-20) win.
The Warriors (11-11 overall, 0-5 Commonwealth) won the first set by hitting .222 and notching 18 kills and nearly took a 2-0 lead after tying the second set at 24, but the Blue Jays (16-8 overall, 4-1 Commonwealth) rallied with two points to take control of the match.
Schulze, who posted her first kills-digs double-double (her first was blocks-digs), also added three blocks. Freshman Lacey Sollenberger (New Enterprize, Pa./North Bedford) added 12 kills and senior Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) added 10 kills and six digs.
Freshman Tanya DeWalt (Mainesburg, Pa./Mansfield) added seven kills and two blocks and freshman Shelby Gear (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) added six kills, three aces and two blocks. Freshman Katelyn McKillop (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) also added a double-double with 39 assists and 11 digs and freshman Kassidy Sedore (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Spackenkill) notched 12 digs. Junior Emily Abel (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) added a match-high 38 digs.
Four Blue Jays posted 10 kills, led by Kelsey Hayes 12 kills and four blocks. Holly Bubb, Katie Gantz and Lindsay Palm each added 10 kills, with Gantz notching 10 digs. Crystal Agnew added 42 assists and Carolyn Lukiewski added 25 digs.
The Warriors get back on the court on Tuesday at Lamde Gymnasium when Arcadia comes to town for Commonwealth Conference match at 7 p.m.
