WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – One hundred and seventy-four pound sophomore Kyle Crouthamel preserved a win for the No. 26 Lycoming College wrestling team with a first-period pin against No. 19 King’s College. The Warriors won the dual match 21-15 on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Lycoming (12-5) had a slim three-point (12-9) lead going into the 174-pound class.
Crouthamel took down the Monarchs’ David Foley early in the match and earned six points for the Warriors with a pin in 1:01, putting Lycoming up 18-9.
At 184-pounds, junior
Troy Hayre picked up three points with a 9-3 decision against Frank Marinucci. At 149-pounds, junior
Isaiah Britton scored a 16-1 technical fall, disrupting a two-weight class winning streak by King’s (12-9).
Returning to the lineup for the first time since the Budd Whitehill Duals was senior 165-pounder
Chris Dahlheimer, who earned a 15-4 major decision.
“It was a great win,” said head coach Roger Crebs. “Everyone was healthy and it was a solid match to get us ready for (Division II) East Stroudsburg University.”
It will be a battle of two Warrior squads when the Lycoming College Warriors host the Warriors of East Stroudsburg on Monday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
