Women's tennis falls 8-1 in Commonwealth match-up to Messiah

Box Score GRANTHAM, Pa. --- The pairing of Kelly Drinkard and Erika Niemann were the lone winners in Lycoming College women’s tennis match against Commonwealth opponent Messiah College. The Lady Warriors fell to the Falcons 8-1 on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The loss drops Lycoming to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in the Commonwealth, while Messiah improves to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Drinkard (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) and Niemann (Taylor, Mich./John F. Kennedy) took an 8-2 victory in the second flight of doubles. In the first flight of singles, Amiee Snyder (Kempfield, Pa./Kutztown) fell 6-3, 6-2 and Kelly Reynolds (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) also lost 6-3, 6-2.

Lycoming returns to its home court on Saturday, Oct. 3 when they square off against Arcadia University. The match will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bruce Henry Courts
