DALLAS, Pa. --- Michelle Herman finished in 25th place in a field of 97 on the 5,000 meter Cougar Classic course on Saturday, Sept. 19. As team, the Lycoming College women’s team took ninth place while the men’s team finished in 10th at the event hosted by Misericordia University.
In the men’s 8,000 meter event, senior Steve Brown (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) crossed the line first in a time of 31:19. Robert Holmes (Oxford, Mass./Oxford) stopped the clock at 32:58 and junior Jake Lewis rounded out the Warriors’ top three in a time of 33:01.
For the women, Herman was the first Warrior across the line, followed by senior Kari Smith (Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted-Post West) in 23:02. Holly Andrews rounded out the top three with a time of 26:46 for the five-kilometer race.
Lycoming is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26 when they travel to the first Belmont Classic race of the year. The event is set for a 12:15 p.m. start in Philadelphia, Pa.
