Women's tennis falls 9-0 to Susquehanna

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.
--- After a hard fought match with local rival Susquehanna University, the Lycoming College women’s tennis team fell 9-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Senior Kelly Drinkard fell in her match 6-4, 6-3 (10-4) in the third flight.

Lycoming is now 0-2 on the season while Susquehanna wins its season opener and is 1-0 on the year.

The combination of Drinkard (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) and Erika Niemann (Taylor, Mich./John F. Kennedy fought hard in the second flight of doubles action 8-4 to Kim Rogers and Abby Hess. In the singles portion, Rebecca Reynolds (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) fell in the top-flight 6-2, 6-3 to Julia Lerner.

Lycoming opens its conference schedule on Saturday, Sept. 19 when it hosts Lebanon Valley. Match time is set for 1 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
