Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. --- Even with a few close matches, the Lycoming College women’s tennis team was unable to pick up a win against King’s College on Sunday, Sept. 13 The pair of Amiee Snyder and Rebecca Reynolds took their opponents to a tie break, falling 9-7.
Lycoming is now 0-1 on the season while King’s starts off the season 2-0.
In doubles action, the second flight of Erika Niemann and Kelly Drinkard lost their match to Christy Rossowski and Lauren Breen 8-0 while Katie Walker and Sarah Jolly (Red Hook, N.Y./Red Hook) also took their third flight opponents to an extra game, losing 9-7.
In the singles matches, Snyder (Kempton, Pa./Kutztown) fell to Jillian Tallarico 6-1, 6-2. Reynolds (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) lost to Courtnay Wilson 6-4, 6-1. Niemann (Taylor, Mich./John F. Kennedy) dropped her match to Rossowski 6-3, 6-2. Drinkard (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) fell to Rachel Hoffnagle 6-4, 6-1. Walker (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) lost 6-1, 6-0 to Lauren Breen and Abby Petritsch fell 6-3, 6-4 in the sixth flight.
The Lady Warriors open their home calendar on Tuesday, Sept. 15 when they host Susquehanna University, starting at 4 p.m. at Bruce Henry Park.
