Abel breaks season dig record in day two of N.Y. Regional Tournament

--- Sophomore libero Emily Abel broke her own season dig record in the final game of the New York Regional Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 1. Abel’s 704 digs this season top her mark of 681, set in the 2008 season.
 
The Lady Warriors finish the year with an 11-20 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the Commonwealth Conference.
 
Against N.Y.U., Lycoming fell in three sets, 12-25, 14-25, 12-25. Junior outside hitter Kelly Rose (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Bishop Hoban) took a match-high 31 swings to earn seven kills. Abel (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) picked up 19 digs while setter, Abby Myers handed out 13 assists. Myers also had 11 digs.
 
In the R.I.T. match, Abel broke the season record as she had a 26-dig effort in the three sets (22-25, 15-25, 17-25). Myers (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg), a senior, moved into third place in careers assists (2,534) after dishing a match-high 27 assists. Junior McKenna Warren (Elmira, N.Y./C.M.S. Elmira) had a team-high nine kills.
