ANNVILLE, Pa. -- Lycoming College senior Andrea Cooper scored her 1,000th career point at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 14. The Lady Warriors lost the game, 65-60, to drop to 9-3 overall and 1-2 in the Commonwealth Conference.
Cooper (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) led the team with a game-high 20 points, bringing her up to a career total of 1,007 points and moving her into seventh on the all-time scoring list, passing Amy Bauman's (1989-93) 1,005 points.
The game was close from the opening tip, with four ties and four lead changes in the first half. After a jump shot with under a minute to play, Lebanon Valley carried a 34-33 lead into halftime.
After six more ties in the second half, the Lady Warriors held a 58-56 lead with just under three minutes to play. The Dutchmen regained the lead, but Lycoming came back again, tying the game at 60-60 with 50 seconds left to play. Lebanon Valley connected on a three-pointer on its next possession and hit free throws to close out the game on a 5-0 run.
Kaitlyn Ober (Lititz, Pa.) posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Lebanon Valley was led by Suzie Noyes double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Megan Bish added 13 points and Lori Lidrow added 11.
The Lady Warriors shot 39.3 percent from the field to Lebanon Valley's 38.3 percent and held a 38-37 rebounding advantage.
Lycoming will travel to Arcadia on Saturday, Jan. 17, for a Commonwealth Conference game at 1 p.m.
