FROSTBURG, Md. – Rebecca Leid led four players in double figures with a double-double as the Lycoming College women’s basketball team defeated Frostburg State, 73-63, in the consolation game of the Frostburg Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 22.
Leid finished the game with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while also handing out three assists and recording two steals. She was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts during the weekend.
Allison Mock and Kaitlyn Ober each finished with 12 points and Andrea Cooper added 10. Jessica Zerbee nearly posted a double-double, finishing with nine points and nine assists.
Frostburg was led by Elizabeth Carrington with 17 points. Jinaki Boston had 14 points and Caryn Wright added 12.
The Lady Warriors bounced back from a poor shooting performance in the tournament’s opening round loss against Elmira, finishing the game 42.9 percent from the floor on 24-of-56 shooting. Frostburg was a dismal 29.3 percent from the field on 17-of-58 shooting.
Lycoming held a distinct advantage in the paint, pulling down 45 rebounds to Frostburg’s 35.
The Lady Warriors improve to 2-1 while Frostburg drops to 1-2 on the season.
Lycoming is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 25, when Misericordia travels to Williamsport for a 6 p.m. tip at Lamade Gymnasium. The Warriors’ men’s basketball team will host Penn College after the women’s game at 8 p.m.
