ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Kathryn Walker won her singles match but the Lycoming College women’s tennis team dropped a Commonwealth Conference match at Elizabethtown on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Walker, a native of Red Lion, Pa., defeated Angela Cairns at the no. 5 singles position. She won the first set 6-2 before dropping the second set 4-6, setting up a decisive third set. In the pro-set tie-breaker, she claimed a 10-8 win to secure the match and the lone win for the Lady Warriors.
With the loss, Lycoming drops to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference while Elizabethtown improves to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the league.
The Lady Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11, facing Lebanon Valley at 1 p.m. in Annville, Pa.
