WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Lycoming College junior 149-pound wrestler Isaiah Britton has been named Warrior of the Week for Jan. 18.
 
Britton (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Twp.) improved to 17-1 this season after going 4-0 at Lycoming's 2010 Budd Whitehill National Duals. He was a key part to the Warriors taking an eighth-place finish in a field that featured eight teams ranked in the top 30.
 
During the Duals, Britton was responsible for 17 team points, picking up two major decisions, a win by fall and a technical fall. In his opening match, he recorded a 13-4 major decision against John Carroll University. Against No. 16 Wilkes University, he pinned his opponent in just 43 seconds. For the second week in a row, Britton defeated his opponent from SUNY-Oswego, this time on his second major decision of the weekend. In his final match against King’s College, Britton scored 13 near fall points to win on a technical fall, 19-3.
 
Britton and the No. 21 Warriors are home for their next match, hosting Messiah College in an Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference dual meet on Friday, Jan. 22. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gymnasium.
 
Lycoming’s sports information office will announce a Warrior of the Week through the 2009-10 academic year. The athletes will be featured on the homepage of the athletics Web site at athletics.lycoming.edu.
