After one of the most stunning single-game performances in school history, junior Jerald Williams has earned his fifth career Warrior of the Week award. The men's basketball team's point guard posted his second career double-double with 10 points and a school-record 21 assists in the 116-101 win over Mount Aloysius on Saturday, Dec. 17. It was the most assists in a game since the NCAA Division III career-per-game record holder David Arsenault (Grinnell) posted 24 against Baptist Bible (Mo.) on Nov. 21, 2008 and the most in an NCAA game since Nov. 25, 2008. It was tied for the 19th-most assists ever in an NCAA game. The 5-7 guard helped guide the Warriors to a 55 percent shooting performance from the point guard slot, turning the ball over just twice against a pressing Mountie team. Williams added seven steals of his own to move within four of 200 in his career and he also notched six rebounds in the win.
