WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Sophomore women’s soccer goalkeeper Chelsea Powers has been named as Lycoming College’s Warrior of the Week for Oct. 19.
 
Powers (Dover, Pa./Dover Area) helped the Lady Warriors to a 1-1 week. Lycoming fell 2-0 to Elizabethtown College on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Over the weekend, Powers and the Warriors earned their first Commonwealth victory 2-0 on the road at Alvernia University on Saturday, Oct. 17.
 
In the Elizabethtown game, Powers made 10 stops against 21 Blue Jay shots. Against the Crusaders, she made five saves to earn the conference win and her second shutout of the year.
 
Lycoming is back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 20 when they host the No. 1 team in the country, Messiah College. Kickoff will be at 4 p.m.
 
Lycoming’s sports information office will announce a Warrior of the Week through the 2009-10 academic year. The athletes will be featured on the homepage of the athletics Web site at athletics.lycoming.edu
