J.P. Earp

A member of the Middle Atlantic Conference Century Team, J.P. Earp ’09 is set for his third season as an assistant men's lacrosse coach.

Earp helped the Warriors make an appearance in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Conference Tournament in his first year in 2014. With his primary focus on defense, Earp helped the Warriors to a three-win improvement that year.

As a player, Earp helped usher in a new era of success in Lycoming lacrosse when he came to the program in 2006. A four-year starter, Earp earned First Team All-MAC honors in 2007, but more importantly, he helped the Warriors to a 21-11 record in his final two years in the program, including a first-place finish in the MAC regular-season standings in 2009. The long-stick midfielder is still second in school history with 62 caused turnovers and 10th with 163 ground balls in his career.

After his sophomore year, he also represented the United States in an international lacrosse tournament in Prague, Czech Republic. He helped the team win the tournament and was named to the tournament’s all-star team. Earp has also coached at youth camps at both Princeton University and Messiah College.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2009, Earp has stayed in the Williamsport area, serving as a senior correctional officer at the United State Penitentiary in Lewisburg, Pa. He also is a sergeant in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He has earned two Army Achievement Medals during his time with the guard, earning one for “exceptionally meritorious service while deployed in Support of Operation Enduring Freedom,” and another for “Dedication to Delta Company, 3rd Battalion - 103rd Armor Regiment during annual training.”
