One of the most accomplished coaches in Muncy High School's history, Al Barraco is set for his second year in his second stint as an assistant coach with the Lycoming College men's basketball team in 2020-21.

In his first year back at Lycoming, he helped the Warriors to a 20-9 overall record and a MAC Commonwealth Championship, as the team completed a worst-to-first comeback after finishing last in the conference in 2019. Barraco helped mentor two all-conference selections and the MAC Rookie of the Year as the team finished 10-6 to place second in the conference's regular season before winning three games in six days in the conference tournament to take the title.

A 1969 graduate of Division II Malone University, Barraco served as an assistant coach at St. Joseph's High School, Walsh College and Malone University in Ohio before moving to Pennsylvania, where he was the head coach at Commodore Perry and Cochranton High Schools before settling in at Muncy, where he took over in 1985.

He served as head coach at Muncy for 15 years in two stints between 1985-97 and 2001-04, leading the Indians to six 20-win seasons, six conference titles and District IV titles in 1992, 2002 and 2003. He earned seven conference coach of the year awards and Muncy earned the Lycoming County Chapter of the PIAA Basketball Officials Sportsmanship Award twice.
