WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Lycoming College women's soccer team defeated King's College, 4-2, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at McCarthy Stadium. Lycoming scored twice in each half while holding King's scoreless through the first half.
Sophomore
Alissa Kimes (York, Pa./Central York) gave the Warriors the opening goal with her first of the season, and senior
Norah Mosley (Robbinsville, N.J./Allentown) added goals on each side of halftime, one on a free kick and one an Olimpico, to push the advantage to 3-0.
With Lycoming ahead 3-2 in the second half, King's (PA) generated three shots and two corner kicks during a stretch without scoring, while Lycoming also had a four-shot sequence in that same portion of the half. First-year
Amelia Chapman (Mount Carmel, Pa./Mount Carmel Area) later added a goal to extend the lead after King's (PA) had closed the gap.
Lycoming finished with a 21-12 advantage in shots and put 11 attempts on goal to King's five. Mosley scored twice on two shots, Kimes scored on one of her two attempts, and Chapman finished with a goal on three shots on frame. Sophomore
Leah Elliott (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser Area) played the full 90 minutes in goal and made three saves, while King's was credited with seven saves.
Lycoming is 2-3-0 overall. King's is 2-4-0 overall.
