WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Sophomores Emi Wenger (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) and Addison Morgan (Bethlehem, Pa. / Northampton) each recorded double-doubles for the Lycoming College volleyball team, which fell in their home opener, 3-1, to DeSales on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Lamade Gym.
After falling 25-17 and 25-14 in the first two sets, Lycoming (2-6) trailed the third set 13-7 before tying the set with a 10-4 run. Both sides traded points well past the regulation 25 points before the Warriors prevailed in the longest set of the year, extending the match with a 31-29 set win. DeSales (8-0) took the fourth set 25-7 to win the match.
Wenger finished with a career-high 13 kills and a season-high 15 digs for her first double-double of the season. Morgan cleared 20 assists for the third consecutive match, racking up a career-best 27 assists, plus a career-best 15 digs. A third sophomore, Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wash. / Sultan) finished with 10 kills, while first-year August Dellinger (Newville, Pa. / Big Spring) tallied 10 digs.
Brooke Signorella led DeSales with 13 kills, Ashlyn Dinan finished with 23 assists, and Kylie Campbell tallied 25 digs for the Bulldogs.
The Warriors will be back in action on Thursday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Penn-State Altoona for a non-conference matchup. The match will get underway at 7 p.m.
