Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wilkes-Barre Area) and junior outfielder
Eric MacCluen (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan), the Lycoming College baseball team opened its 2026 season with a 12-1 win over Guilford on Friday afternoon, Feb. 13, at McBane Field, producing 16 hits in the team's first season-opening win since a 2-0 win at Dickinson in 1970.

Lycoming (1-0) built its lead with four runs in the second inning, as Bottger singled in MacCluen with the first run before a fielding error helped junior designated hitter
Anthony Guzman (Inglewood, Calif./Paramount) score, setting up RBI singles from Perkins and Llorente. The Warriors added single runs in the fifth, with Llorente reaching on an error to score senior
Nick Hoheb (Brick, N.J./Brick Township), sixth, with Hoheb scoring MacCluen on a single, and seventh, with senior third baseman
Brody Lindsey (Monrovia, Md./DeMatha Catholic), to take a 7-1 lead. Guilford scored its lone run in the sixth.

The Warriors closed the game with five runs in the ninth, as Perkins singled in sophomore
Kaden Shay (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport), Llorente doubled in Reeder, Lindsey doubled in Llorente and Perkins and Bottger scored Lindsey on a single.

Llorente led the Warriors by going 3-for-6 with two runs, two RBI and a double. Bottger added three hits, two runs, two RBI and a double and MacCluen contributed three hits and two runs and senior shortstop
Sean Perkins (Berlin, N.J./Eastern Regional) finished with two hits and two RBI. As a team, Lycoming totaled three doubles, nine RBI, four stolen bases, two walks and three hit batters.

On the mound, senior right-hander
Alex Halbert (Laurel, Md./Atholton) (1-0) delivered 4.0 scoreless innings to start, allowing one hit and two walks. Senior
Jake Wilber (Toms River, N.J./Toms River South) earned the win with 4.0 innings of relief work, giving up
six hits,
an earned run and a walk. He struck out four. Senior
Rick Trapanese (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) closed the ninth, yielding one hit and striking out one. The Warriors' staff combined to hold Guilford to 1 run on 8 hits, while the defense turned two double plays.

Skyler Dark went 2-for-3 with a double and Connor Griffin went 3-for-4 to lead the Quakers. Tanner Royals (0-1) pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits and no earned runs. He walked two and struck out two.
Lycoming finishes its series at Guilford on Saturday, Feb. 14, with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
