WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College men's basketball team had five players score in double figures, but Moravian University used a second-half rally to outlast Lycoming, 88-81 in a Landmark Conference contest to on Sunday, Jan. 11 at Lamade Gymnasium.
Junior
Hayden Pardoe (Mill Hall, Pa./Central Mountain) connected on 7-of-15 shots, leading the Warriors (4–9 overall, 0–6 Landmark) with 19 points and snagged six rebounds, while sophomore
Princeton Layton (Katy, Texas/Katy Paetow) added 16 points, handing out four assists and grabbing three steals. First-year
Elisha Slabach (Cleona, Pa./Annville-Cleona) also scored 16, including three long-range bombs. First-year
Noa'Sosa Friedman (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) posted 10 points and seven boards, and junior
Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa. / Downingtown East) chipped in 11 points with four assists. Senior
J.J. Beagle (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) added nine points and six rebounds.
After Moravian opened the game with 11 straight points in the first five and half minutes, the Warriors closed the half on a 45-17 run to lead 45–28 at halftime, shooting 52.8 percent in the first half. Moravian (9-4 overall, 3-3 Landmark) scored 60 points in the second half, paced by
Marquis Ratcliff's 25 and
Chad Kratzer's 21, ultimately pulling away in the final minutes, thanks to three 3-pointers from Kratzer in the final three minutes.
Lycoming finished 52.4 percent from the field (33‑63) and 32.1 percent from three-point range (9‑28), while Moravian hit 14 threes and finished 14‑of‑21 at the free-throw line.
Lycoming will head to the University of Scranton for its next Landmark Conference game on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.
