CARLISLE, Pa. – After posting the team's best round in 18 years in the opening round of the Dickinson Fall Invitational, the Lycoming College golf team turned in its best round in 52 years, posting a 308 to finish with a two-day, 69-over-par 645 to take 20
th at the Dickinson Fall Invitational at the par-72, 6,670-yard Carlisle Barracks Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Hill Meserve (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville) carded a 3-over-par 75, junior
Will Eberz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) added a 4-over-par 76, junior
Connor Shanahan (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) had a 6-over-par 78 and first-year
Ryan Ault (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) added a 7-over-par 79 to wrap up the scoring four, as the quartet helped Lycoming finish 35 strokes ahead of Wilson College after entering the day behind by four strokes.

The round of 308 was the 15
th-best round in the 21-team tournament and the best for the Warriors since the group of Randy Cober (73), Tom Simek (77), Steve Shuey (76) and Fred Bremier (80) carded a 306 in the first round of the 1973 MAC Championship at the par-71 Hidden Springs Golf Course, as the team finished the two-day tournament with a school-record 640 to finish in fifth in a 19-team field.

Meserve finished the two round tournament in 83
rd-5
th place in the 109-golfer field with a 15-over-par 159 (84-75). He birdied the par-4, 418-yard No. 3, the par-5, 570-yard No. 17 and the par-4, 387-yard No. 18 and had pars on 10 holes on Monday, finishing 1-over-par on the front nine and 2-over-par on the back.

Tre Lesperance (Chadds Ford, Pa./Unionville) finished 85
th-place with a 16-over-par 160 (79-81). He birdied No. 17 and had nine pars.

Eberz climbed 13 spots in the standings to finish in 93
rd with a 20-over-par 164 (88-76), as he birdied four holes in a row to finish the front nine at even par before four bogeys and five pars helped him finish 4-over-par on Monday. He birdied the par-3, 198-yard No. 4, the par-4, 326-yard No. 5, the par-3, 235-yard No. 6, and the par-4, 392-yard No. 7.

Ault climbed eight places to finish 94
th with a 21-over-par 165 (86-79), as he birdied the par-5, 521-yard No. 9 and the par-4, 405-yard No. 12 on Monday.

Shanahan also climbed six spots, finishing the two-day tournament with a two-day total of 167 (89-78). He notched an eagle on the par-4, 278-yard No. 16 with a drive that set up a two-foot putt and posted a birdie on No. 4 to go with nine pars.

Franklin & Marshall's Max Silverman and Collin McMahon-Shea tied for the tournament medallist honors with an 8-under-par 136. Franklin & Marshall won the team tournament title with a 20-under-par 556.

The Warriors get back on the course on Wednesday, Sept. 17, when they head to the Marywood Fall Quad at Stone Hedge Golf Course in Tunkhannock, Pa.
