ABINGTON, Pa. – Junior
Norah Mosley (Robbinsville, N.J./Allentown) notched a goal and an assist to lead the Lycoming College women's soccer team, which used a four-goal first half to power past Penn State-Abington, 5-2, for its ninth straight win on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 24, at Memorial Field.
The Warriors (9-0 overall) scored twice in the first 15 minutes, with junior
Abigail Umhoefer (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) breaking the ice in the eighth minute before Mosley found first-year
Gabriella Rabinowitz (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) for her seventh goal of the season in the 14
th minute.
The Lions (2-4-1 overall) rallied to tie the score in the next 20 minutes before junior
Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) broke the tie in the 37
th minute. Just over a minute later, Mosley connected to make it 4-2 at the break. Junior
Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) added her 11
th goal of the season in the 74
th minute to round out the scoring.
First-year
Leah Elliott (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser Area) made four saves in the first 75 minutes before yielding to junior
Mia Pollack (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood). Sam Ridler stopped six shots for the Lions.
Meghan McGinly and Kaitlyn Frank each scored for Penn State Abington.
The Warriors open Landmark Conference action on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they head to the Catholic University of America for a 1 p.m. start.
