Warriors post fourth straight shutout against Gettysburg, 1-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Jace Bennett (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) posted four saves in his fourth straight shutout, and first-year Jacob Wojciehowski (Newark, Del./Caravel Academy) headed in the lone goal as the Lycoming College men's soccer team beat Gettysburg College, 1-0, at UPMC Field on Tuesday night, Sept. 16.

The Warriors (2-2-2 overall) got on the board in the 15th minute, scoring off a corner kick, with junior Aidan Stillman (Silver Spring, Md./Alber Einstein) sending the ball in to Wojciehowski, who found the far corner of the net with the header.

Lycoming took seven shots in the contest to nine from Gettysburg (4-3 overall), but held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Bennett made four stops in the shutout win and Sean Kennedy stopped one for the Bullets.

The Warriors are back on the field on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they head to John Carroll University for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
