WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Ella Magee (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) notched a hat trick in the first half, all of set kicks, to lead the Lycoming College women's soccer team to a 6-0 win over 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference runners-up Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday, Sept. 13, at UPMC Field.
The Warriors got a penalty kick in the third minute, as junior
Kaitlyn Born (Hamilton, N.J./South Brunswick) was tripped in the box, setting up Magee's first goal. In the 28
th minute, Magee struck again on a true Olimpico in the 28
th minute and she capped the half by scoring after the Warriors earned a free kick just outside the 18-yard box.
With seven goals and six assists, Magee has reached 20 points for the second straight year after she had nine goals and three assists for 21 points as a rookie.
In the second half, the Warriors scored three times in the flow of the game. Senior
Aubrey Williamson (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) extended her school record to 22 career assists with a dish into the box to junior
Julia Bidelspach (Myerstown, Pa./ELCO), who scored her fourth goal of the season in the 57
th minute. Four minutes later, junior
Mikayla Long (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) found the right corner for her sixth goal of the season and the 24
th of her career. First-year
Ashlee Magaro (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) capped the scoring in the 84
th minute with a goal that was deflected off a defender and into the net.
Senior
Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J./Morris Catholic) improved to 6-0 with her 10
th career shutout, as she made two saves in the win. Mia Camps (0-2) had eight saves for the Bobcats.
The Warriors host King's on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m., at UPMC Field, as the team has a chance to match its best start in program history with a win after starting the 2024 season 7-0 en route to a record 15 wins.
