MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Junior
Terrence Oliver (Sharon Hill, Pa./Academy Park) ran 24 times for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Lycoming College football team, but Montclair State overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to win 27-24 in non-conference action at Sprague Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13.

Oliver posted a 31-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and a one-yard rush in the third, which gave Lycoming a 24-10 lead with 11:05 left.

Montclair (1-1 overall) scored on a 49-yard pass to close within 24-16 before an eight-yard pass on the first play of the fourth quarter helped the Red Hawks close within two points before the two-point conversion tied the game.

The Warriors ensuing drive stalled at midfield and Montclair took the lead with a 10-play, 58-yard drive capped by a 26-yard field goal from Roger Rubinetti.

The Warriors responded with a 12-play, 68-yard drive, closing to within the Montclair State 10-yard line with less than a minute remaining, but a fumble recovery from Montclair's R. Visali ended the comeback attempt with nine seconds left.

Senior
Ryan Pentz (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) scored the first touchdown for the Warriors, picking up a muffed punt snap in the end zone before Lycoming's offense had even touched the ball. A 20-yard field goal from first-year
Vince Granitto () made it 10-0 midway through the opening quarter.

After Montclair's first touchdown, Oliver broke loose on a 31-yard rush with 13:11 left. Rubinetti hit a 37-yard field goal to make it 17-10 at halftime.

Lycoming expanded the lead in the third with a seven-play, 68-yard drive that was capped by a 42-yard flea flicker from junior
Jared Zimmerman (Souderton, Pa./Souderton Area) to senior
Karson Kline (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area), who was downed at the two-yard line, setting up Oliver's second touchdown.

Kline finished with seven receptions for 102 yards. Sophomore
Joe Lyons III (Margate City, N.J./Atlantic City) went 9-of-14 for 92 yards in his first collegiate start.

Daniel Atsou (Capitol Heights, Md./Suitland) led the defense with 12 tackles, two for a loss. Senior
Matt Trolinger (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and sophomore
Louie Shank (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) each had nine tackles. Sophomore
JayVon Story (Philadelphia, Pa./West Catholic) added 1.5 tackles for loss.

Luke Henrich finished 8-of-12 for 119 yards and two scores. Jalen Carter caught one pass for 49 yards to lead Montclair's receivers. Henrich rushed 16 times for 105 yards and Diante Wilson rushed 15 times for 102. Alex Buchwald led the defense with 10 tackles, one for loss, and he forced a fumble.

The Warriors get back on the court on Saturday, Sept. 20, when they face Dickinson College at 1 p.m. at David Person Field at Girardi Stadium.
