HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Junior Riley Block (Hopatcong, N.J. / Morris Catholic) led the Lycoming College women's lacrosse team with four goals and senior Alexa Baldwin (Bel Air, Md. / Harford Tech) added four assists as the Warriors fell, 18-6, at Juniata College in Landmark Conference action on Wednesday evening, April 23, at the Henry H. and Joanie R. Gibbel Stadium.
With 4:36 remaining in the first quarter, senior Alyssa Zorbaugh (York, Pa. / West York) kicked off the Warriors' scoring with a goal. Block followed with her first goal with 2:41 left, which Baldwin assisted.
Four minutes into the second quarter, Baldwin assisted Block with another goal, tying the score at 4. Less than a minute later, Block added another goal — this time unassisted. Juniata entered halftime with a five-point advantage, 10-5.
In the fourth period, Baldwin threw the ball to first-year Emily Reese (Kingsville, Md. / Eastern Tech), who posted Lycoming's sixth goal.
Senior Katie Maguire (Garnerville, N.Y. / Albertus Magnus) caused six turnovers and picked up two ground balls. Reese and junior Autumn Shahan (Wilmington, Del. / Wilmington Charter) each snagged three ground balls.
First-year Emma Yanders (Kempton, Pa. / Northwestern Lehigh) saved 17 shots for the Warriors (7-8 overall, 2-6 Landmark). For Juniata (7-8 overall, 5-3 Landmark), Mikayla Bodley and Caoilinn Heatley combined to stop six attempts by the Warriors.
The Warriors travel to Towson, Md., on Saturday, April 26, to play in Landmark Conference action against Goucher College at 1 p.m.
