WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior
Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) fired her second straight two-hit shutout and she hit a home run to lead the Lycoming College softball team to a 4-0 win over the University of Scranton in the first game of a Landmark Conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, April 13, at the Shangraw Athletic Complex. Scranton used a four-run seventh to post a 4-2 win in the second game.

Eiswerth struck out 13 batters, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning and she became the sixth Warrior to strike out 100 batters in a season with her last strikeout of the first game, while also adding a sixth-inning homer to left field.

Junior
Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) was 2-for-2 with a run and two RBI to pace the offense, which cracked seven hits in the game.

Alexander led off the first with a walk, moved to second on a sac bunt, third on a double from senior
Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale Area) and scored on a two-out wild pitch. In the second, first-year
Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) singled through the left side with two outs before Alexander drilled a double to right center.

In the fourth, first-year
Ashley Forrest (Red Hill, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) doubled, moved to third on a sac bunt and scored on a two-out single from Alexander, before Eiswerth homered for the last run in the sixth.

Eiswerth threw six no-hit innings to start the game, allowing just a second-inning walk and a runner to reach on error in the fifth. After her 11
th strikeout opened the inning, Emmie Feltenberger broke up the no-hitter with a hard-hit grounder through the left side.

Emma Douglas (6-2) threw six innings, allowing seven hits and four runs. She struck out eight and walked two.

Lycoming (11-10 overall, 3-7 Landmark) scored two runs in the first two innings of the second game and held that lead until Scranton (15-7 overall, 7-3 Landmark) rallied to score four runs in the seventh in a 4-2 decision.

Alexander led off the second game with a single, moving to second on a sac bunt and scoring on a double to left center from Daub. In the second inning, Eiswerth reach on an error, moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on an error.

Kiley Mullins (3-3) allowed five hits and an earned run in a complete game. She struck out two. Emmie Feltenberger was 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Sophomore
Kendall McAnelly (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and no runs. She walked three. Eiswerth (5-5) allowed four hits and two earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. She walked one and struck out two.

The Warriors get back on the field on Saturday, April 19, when they head to Moravian University for a 1 p.m. Landmark Conference doubleheader.
